International Environmental Law within the Framework of Postwar Global Politics

The codification of International Environmental Law was vague in the postwar period. This article takes stock of its application between States and international organizations, beginning with a brief history of international environmental law and followed by an analysis of the postwar period, the increase in environmental awareness worldwide and the main environmental summits. The article also gives an overview of the work of international environmental organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, and environmental agreements within the framework of global environmental governance.
