Environmental Diplomacy and the Theory of Environmental Justice in the Global South

Resumen
This article analyzes the point of intersection between environmental diplomacy, environmental justice, and the fair energy transition, specifically in the Global South and Mexico. It discusses the global asymmetry regarding the distribution of critical minerals and the challenges for it to be fair. Highlighting the role of the environmental diplomacy in the negotiation to reduce environmental and economic inequality. Due to its resources and strategic location, Mexico has the potential to lead decarbonization initiatives and to promote environmental justice, establishing itself as a key player in the transition to a more sustainable and fair future.
