Foreword

Mexico has adopted an active, purposeful brand of diplomacy, and has undertaken to find multilateral solutions to the environmental challenges of our time, thereby contributing to the consolidation of the concept of sustainable development, based on the premise that economic development and environmental protection are not mutually exclusive. Mexico believes environmental diplomacy should encompass social justice, the closing of the inequality gap, fair energy transition, the protection of ecosystems and respect for traditional wisdom, especially that of Indigenous peoples and local communities.
