Abstract

The countries that form sub-Saharan Africa community, still are burdened by the challenges on development inherited from their colonial masters, who did not bother to develop the domestic human capital to prepare them for the future. As the result, they are ill prepared to plan and implement their domestic growth and development. They depend on the international financial institutions to manage the policies for development. Food insecurity and environment degradation have been on the increase due to population growth aggravated by climate change. It is highly unlikely sub-Saharan Africa will be able to meet the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
