Asking the Impossible: The Illicit Arms Trafficking between Mexico and the United States, and the Mexican Consular Diplomacy

In the first part of this essay lays out the right to arms in both the United States and Mexico and the urge to reduce the firepower capacity of organized crime. Likewise, it describes some of the obstacles to greater collaboration between the two countries. The second part analyzes the scope and limits of greater involvement of the Mexican consular network in addressing the problem, as well as in developing a new narrative.
