Social Liberalism in the New Relationship with the World: The Foreign Policy of the Government of Carlos Salinas de Gortari
Main Article Content
Abstract
Social liberalism has become a government program and its institutionalization has made it possible to specify more general proposals. The dynamics of Mexico and that of the rest of the world have become new possibilities, new challenges and also concrete results: the decisive opening to the outside world; the call for plurality and political tolerance; the defense of human rights; the financial restructuring of the State; the consolidation of economic stability and the resumption of growth; the solidarity fight against extreme poverty; the protection of ecological heritage, and respect and support for individual and collective initiatives.
