Abstract

Created to promote peace and development in the Central American area in crisis, the Contadora Group marks a milestone in the history of Central America and, to a large extent, in that of Latin America. In this section, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Contadora, the Revista Mexicana de Política Exterior issue 114 presents two valuable essays that underline the significance of this multilateral initiative. The iconography that appears at the end of the section complements and enriches it. It testifies to different moments in which, starting in 1983, the foreign ministers of Mexico, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela met to discuss and reach solutions through consensus.
