Mexico and Europe: A History of Friendship, Solidarity and Cooperation

This article presents a broad overview of Mexico’s relations with European countries, both bilaterally —with our main partners in the continent— and regarding the negotiations to update the legal framework between Mexico and the European Union (EU). First, it analyzes some of the recent transformations in the international system, in Mexico and in Europe, and then it evaluates the progress registered in the negotiations with the EU, as well as the most outstanding bilateral achievements with selected European countries.
