Relations with Germany and How to Strengthen Mexico’s Presence in Today’s World

This paper describes how the current international context can favour bilateral relations between Germany and Mexico. First, it overviews Germany’s economic, social and political landscape, and then it explains its economic success and main challenges: demographic changes and migration. Next, the paper presents the principles and priorities of German foreign policy, and highlights the strategic role of Mexico within in it. Finally, the bilateral relationship is evaluated as an integral part of Mexican international relations, in order to propose political, economic, and cooperation elements that could enhance Mexico’s influence in the world.
