Mexico and France: The Ambivalence of Walking “Hand in Hand”

Abstract

This article gives an overview of the bilateral relationship between Mexico and France. It characterizes the singularity of this relationship for the two countries, by highlighting the historical, cultural and scientific proximity, which coexists with a persistent difficulty in delivering a true strategic political and economic agenda. For this, the main sequences of rapprochement and distancing of the bilateral relationship are taken as an example.
