Brexit: What Happened and What Is Next?

In this article I discuss the causes of the brexit vote in 2016, as well as the negotiating process that has unfolded since March, 2017. The British economy has suffered, especially in the value of the pound and lower growth since the vote. On the other hand, long-term economic prospects for the UK are hard to predict, at least until the final details of the departure from the European Union are known.
