The International Obligations of Mexico and the New National Anti-Corruption System
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Mexican Anti-Corruption System is a framework legislation designed to help root out corruption in public service. In the Mexican Anti-Corruption acts three international treaties have been transformed into national law and policy: the United Nations Convention against Corruption, the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption and the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions. The paper examines the role of these in Mexican Anti-Corruption Law. Furthermore, the article investigates the extent to which the Mexican Anti-Corruption System has given effect to the international treaties that are binding on Mexico.
