Mexico in Twenty-First Century Latin America and the Caribbean

This article assesses the cultural, linguistic, socio-demographic and economic aspects that link Mexico with Latin America and the  Caribbean, highlighting the importance of the region in the international scenario. Stemming from the aforementioned analysis, this essay presents the main initiatives that guide Mexico’s multilateral and bilateral foreign policy towards Latin America, with the aim of reassuring the country’s natural stance as a relevant actor in the region.
