Octavio Paz, a Mexican Diplomat in Japan

In his 23 years long diplomatic career Octavio Paz ran through the ranks of the Mexican Foreign Service. He stayed less than five months in Japan in 1952, but they were not insignificant. This article traces the history of that short period and explains its significance.
