At Ground Level: On how to Be a Responsible Global Actor

This article proposes a methodological turn for the process of foreign policy making in Mexico. The main idea is to break up with the obsessive search to confirm Mexican identity through foreign policy in order to privilege a gesture of Mexico towards the world that, without abandoning our foreign policy principles, yields a space for the consideration of our country’s legitimate interests. Such conceptual transformation could have a privileged point of materialization through Mexico’s consular diplomacy.
