Abstract

The publication of this issue of the RMPE presented here is entitled "Local Governments: International Actors". In it, the increasing prominence that local and regional governments acquire on the international scene is highlighted, questioning the traditional vision of international relations and opening a panorama to a new type of external link, from the local, with relations based on horizontality, strategic alliances and interdependence. The coordinators invited a representative panel of European and Latin American experts, women and men, who contribute to the debate from two complementary perspectives: the theoretical analysis of the academy and the practical experience of professionals in local governments. Thus, in this issue 104 of the RMPE, the phenomenon of the internationalization of the local is analyzed from a multidimensional point of view, and the reader is offered a broad panorama, sometimes controversial, about a new way of understanding the world.
