Abstract

The participants of the international symposium "Public and Cultural Diplomacy" agreed that, in the not-so-new globalized context, cultural relations have gained new momentum. Culture has been revalued as a determining factor in the development of countries, not only because of the important economic value of cultural industries, but also because of the unique role of culture as a bridge of communication between nations, which facilitates mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples. Without it, dialogue between civilizations is impossible, especially now, in a world that seems irreconcilable due to antagonistic positions and conflicting points of view. A good cultural diplomacy, through the success of its actions, supposes the possibility of finding points of convergence, of coincidence and of connection between cultures.
